When James Wilkinson, Founder and CEO of Streaming Tank, reached out, he wasn’t just looking for a pretty deck.
He needed a powerful tool.
A tool that could:
- Show Streaming Tank's evolution from a services company to a SaaS product
- Clearly highlight why investors should care right now
- Bring their 17-year track record into the spotlight
- And build trust fast with no wasted space
We knew one thing going in: this deck had to carry weight in the room. Not just visually—but structurally. It needed to answer hard questions before they were asked. It had to walk a fine line: ambitious but grounded, visionary but backed with numbers.
That’s exactly what we built.
The Challenge
Streaming Tank has been around since 2003. They’ve streamed over 5,000 live events across 50+ countries, served major global clients, and built up £45k in monthly recurring revenue.
But the company was at an inflection point.
They’d begun transitioning from a high-touch, service-heavy model to a cloud-based SaaS platform that allows users—brands, agencies, and enterprises—to produce and broadcast live video across all social platforms easily.
It wasn’t just a rebrand. It was a pivot. A real business model shift that needed to be explained, framed, and made crystal clear to people outside the company.
Most investors get dozens of pitch decks thrown at them every week. Most of them go unread. Or worse, get tossed after slide three. That’s the hill we had to climb—quickly.
This deck had to do three big things:
- Prove Streaming Tank wasn’t stuck in the past
- Make the SaaS pivot feel inevitable and exciting
- Build trust in the leadership team and the numbers
Our Approach
We didn’t just crack open PowerPoint and start playing with colors. We spent time understanding their business model, talking through their goals, and reviewing previous investor materials.
We broke the project into four stages:
1. Messaging Clarity
We helped simplify their story. No jargon. No filler. Just real talk:
- Why does live streaming matter now?
- Why is Streaming Tank built for this moment?
- Why does their SaaS model give them a major advantage?
We removed extra buzzwords, restructured the order of slides to follow a problem-solution-results-investment arc, and tightened every single line of text to respect investor attention.
2. Design That Stays Out of the Way
Design is important, but good design disappears. It makes the story shine. So we focused on:
- Clear layouts
- Clean type hierarchy
- Smart use of space to avoid slide clutter
- On-brand color palettes and iconography
- Subtle animations that worked across devices
Every slide was built to be read and presented. That flexibility was key.
3. Visualizing the Shift
We made their financial shift—from 80% services to 80% SaaS—easy to digest. Visuals showed the shift in revenue, gross margin improvement, and projected growth without overwhelming the viewer.
We made sure their projections didn’t feel like pie-in-the-sky guesses. Instead, we built context:
- Past growth
- Product development already underway
- International opportunities
- Real customer feedback
And all of it tied back to their ask: £900k in Series A funding to scale the platform, team, and operations.
4. Building Proof Through Social Proof
Streaming Tank has worked with everyone from Coca-Cola to Live Nation, Simon Cowell’s team, and Syco TV. We placed these testimonials and client logos strategically throughout the deck—at moments where trust needed reinforcement.
Real quotes from real people made all the difference. They turned an “unknown tech play” into an experienced, credible partner.
Key Slides That Moved the Needle
Here are a few parts of the deck that stood out during feedback and investor calls:
Industry Insight Slide
We showed how live streaming has exploded:
- 80% of consumers prefer live video to written content
- 1 in 5 Facebook videos are live
- 63% of people aged 18–34 watch live content regularly
- 82% of all internet traffic is expected to be live video
These numbers weren’t thrown in as decoration—they were framed around why Streaming Tank is poised to scale now.
“Our Value” Slide
This slide answered the “Why You?” question head-on:
- 17+ years in the game
- £45k MRR as of January 2020
- 5,000+ live streams produced
- Global footprint and industry recognition
It helped us combat the idea that they were “just another new SaaS company.”
Team Slide
We showed that leadership wasn’t theoretical. James Wilkinson had already scaled the company. CTO, finance, production, and an experienced advisory board were all clearly listed.
Having trusted names on the board like Peter Foy and Michael Acton Smith didn’t hurt either.
Revenue Model Transition Slide
Instead of getting lost in spreadsheets, we gave them a simple graph:
- Current model: 80% services, 20% SaaS
- Target model in 3 years: 80% SaaS, 20% services
- Margins shifting from <20% to 50%+
The audience didn’t need to be finance experts to understand it. That was the goal.
The Result
Streaming Tank’s team was genuinely excited with the final deck. Here’s what they liked most:
- The visual simplicity made it easy to present over Zoom and in-person
- The message felt like them—not some overly polished consultant talk
- The structure naturally answered the big investor questions without bouncing around
They’ve used the deck in meetings for their Series A raise of £900k. It’s helped them confidently walk investors through the vision, show traction, and make the financials approachable.
No confusion. No guessing. Just a solid, story-led pitch with teeth.
Why This Deck Worked
We didn’t just design a presentation. We built a pitch tool.
Here’s what made the difference:
- We asked hard questions. What do investors actually need to see to say yes? We focused on those, and left the rest on the cutting room floor.
- We let the numbers breathe. Investors don’t invest in slides. They invest in clarity. So we made the numbers easy to see and interpret.
- We cut the noise. Everything on the screen had a job. If it didn’t help tell the story or move things forward, it got cut.
Could Your Pitch Deck Use a Makeover?
Whether you're raising your first round, launching a new product, or repositioning your company, your pitch deck has one job: make your story easy to believe.
That means no dense paragraphs. No flashy distractions. Just the right balance of narrative, numbers, and proof.
We’ve helped startups and established brands tell stories that stick, close deals, and build momentum. If you want to go from “just another pitch” to a deck that actually moves people—you know where to find us.
